Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) Material
Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) is a high-performance composite material composed of chopped E-glass strands uniformly dispersed within a thermosetting polyester resin matrix and sandwiched between plastic carrier films. During compression molding, controlled heat and pressure initiate cross-linking of the resin, resulting in a fully cured, void-free laminate with excellent fiber distribution. This process yields parts with well-balanced mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and robust chemical resistance, making SMC an ideal choice for demanding structural and electrical applications.

One of SMC’s key advantages lies in its design flexibility and production efficiency.
